Smart Thermostat Program
Edisto Electric Cooperative offers a Smart Thermostat Program designed to reward members for helping to manage energy demand during peak usage periods. By participating, members contribute to lower power costs and increased grid reliability for the entire community.
Program Incentive for 2026
$50.00 Enrollment Credit: New participants receive a one-time $50.00 bill credit upon successful enrollment and acceptance into the program.
How the Program Works
Peak Demand Adjustments
On days when electricity demand is at its highest, the cooperative may remotely make minor, temporary adjustments to your smart thermostat settings.
Maintain Control
You always retain full control over your home's temperature. If an adjustment is made during a "peak event," you can manually override the setting at any time.
Collective Impact
These small adjustments help "Beat the Peak," reducing the overall cost of power for the cooperative and its members.
Eligibility and Enrollment
To receive the $50.00 credit, members must:
Have a qualifying internet-connected smart thermostat installed (common brands include Copeland Sensi, Ecobee, Honeywell, Honeywell Lyric, and Amazon Smart Thermostat).
Be a residential member of Edisto Electric Cooperative.
